I made this necklace using vintage (1990’s) Carnelian beads, on a 14k Gold Filled chain. The chain is 18” in length. This is a one of a kind necklace, and the pendant cannot be removed from the chain.
Gold filled is a manufacturing process where 2 sheets of solid gold are bonded over a brass core. A true gold filled piece of jewelry is at least 5% solid gold in weight, and the surface layer is 100x thicker than gold plated jewelry. Therefore, gold filled jewelry will always last longer than gold plated jewelry.
